Alan Geraci  

He Fights. We Win!  

 

Alan Geraci is a respected consumer attorney, small business owner, father, youth sports coach, and community leader.  He and his wife Karen, have a blended family of six children and two grandchildren.  

He grew up in a working family on Long Island in Commack, New York.  His Mom Sunny, was a waitress and later a mental health caregiver at Pilgrim State Hospital.  Alan’s Dad Louis, worked in a floor refinishing business, as a door man at a high rise, a professional chauffeur, and later as a caregiver.  

Alan attended the State University of New York at Albany receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, the first in his family to graduate from college.  After graduating, Alan moved to California to attend law school in San Diego where he earned his law degree from California Western School of Law.   

Alan Geraci then served as a Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Diego where he headed the Trial and Appellate Division, supervising 35 lawyers.  

Alan led the effort to create the first-ever Domestic Violence Unit in the City Attorney’s office with its own staffing, investigators working in conjunction with the Police Department, and deputy city attorneys’ who specialized in domestic violence prosecution.  

For 30 years, Alan has practiced consumer law emphasizing civil litigation, foreclosure, real estate, trusts, wills and bankruptcy.  He stood up to big banks to protect the homes of 300 families from foreclosure.  

Alan Geraci has been an active member of the community helping the Save Our Escondido Library coalition fight the privatization of the Escondido Public Library; as a coach for San Marcos Youth Baseball and San Marcos Youth Soccer teams; and as a participant in the Women’s March North County; Enough! Student and Community Rally; and the Escondido March for Our Lives.  

Alan has been a leader with the Citizens Oversight Election Integrity Committee; active in his local PTA; the North County Immigration Task Force; Consumer Attorneys of California; Consumer Attorneys of San Diego County; and the Escondido, San Marcos, and Temecula Chambers of Commerce.  

Alan has worked on national political campaigns since he was 18 and written about important legal and political topics.  

Alan Geraci has spent his entire career fighting powerful special interests on behalf of everyday citizens and winning to ensure we get a fair deal!

  • Alan Geraci filed a lawsuit to stop Escondido City Council’s privatization of our public library
  • Alan Geraci filed suit against San Diego County Registrar of Voters to make sure every vote is counted, providing greater election transparency
  • Alan Geraci led the effort to create the first-ever Domestic Violence Unit in the San Diego City Attorney’s office where he managed domestic violence prosecution.
  • Alan Geraci fought developers to preserve open space creating the 5,800-acre Mission Trails Regional Park when serving as San Diego Deputy City Attorney
  • Alan Geraci fought against Fallbrook Utility District’s proposed water rate hikes.
